How can you tell proso millet?
Proso Millet grains are spherical to oval in shape. Its length and diameter are about 3mm and 2mm respectively. The color of the grain varies from white cream golden yellow, brown, and straw white.
Ingredients
1 cup split moong dal or whole green gram with skin for even better and more healthier option .
1/4 cup proso millets or any millet variety .
1 tsp methi seeds
1/4 cup washed clean curry leaves .
Method
Soak moong dal, methi seeds and millets for 3 hours.
It will be great if you can soak millets overnight as longer soaking of millets is advised for good nutrition from millets .
After required soaking time, grind all with curry leaves to a smooth paste .A dd salt, asafoetida powder , a pinch , mix batter well , prepare dosas immediately .
This is like pesarattu and doesnt need any fermentation .
serve with chutneys or allam pachadi or sambar .
