Karuppu ulundhu adai / black udad dal adai

INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup black whole gram ( udad )
1/4 cup idli rice
as needed salt
2-3 tbsp black pepper corns
1 tsp cumin seeds optional
1 sprig curry leaves
1 tsp sesame oil per adai
1/4 tsp asafoetida powder
KARUPU ULUNDHU ADAI
INSTRUCTIONS
keep whole black udad dal washed and soaked for 30 minutes.
keep idli rice or raw rice washed and soaked for 15 minutes.
Grind both to a thick coarse batter with 2-3 tbsp pepper corns.
Add curry leaves , cumin seeds ( optional ) salt and hing powder.
Mix batter well make adai on a heated greased dosa tava immediately no need to rest batter .
Spread batter little thick .
Add sesame oil around edges
Serve hot with avial ,jaggery and butter
