Delicious instant oats rava dosa recipe for those who dont like oats as porridge , a quick breakfast option with no prior planning
Didnt actually plan to make this , but spied a bottle of some blend of oats, ragi flakes and jowar sitting in a corner of my kitchen shelf, so tossed that in a bowl
along with other ingredients and a delicious oats rava dosa was done for afternoon tiffin , oats haters loved it , and i was happy too .
Delicious oats rava dosa , healthy and tasty , for breakfast or lunch . I use oats in many dishes and rarely consume as a porridge . from appam, paniyarams, chapatis, parathas, dosa, idlis, , oats is used in many dishes . i love this quick easy way to have them for our breakfast .My hubby hates a bowl of oats but will gobble up these dosas which i serve with a veg chutney or a arachavitta sambar which is again a healthy option for a side dish .
Recipe :
3/4 cups oats ( i did not bother to roast and grind to powder )
1/2 cup rice flour
1/4 cup rava
2 3/4 cup water
salt
pinch of hing
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp jeera
curry leaves
1 tbsp finely chopped green chillies
chopped coriander leaves
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tbsp chopped cashew nuts (optional )
2 tbsp grated fresh coconut ( optional )
some finely chopped onions ( optional )
add water mix well, rest batter 30 minutes
add more water if batter appears thick after resting
Method
Heat a tava well , must sizzle when you sprinkle water, quickly pour the batter
all over, allow to cook a little then add ghee or oil , allow to cook for few minutes( takes a while )
remove and serve with your preferred accompaniments.
