Recipe for those who are new or learning
Ingredients
1 cup sooji roasted lightly
1 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp chana dal of udad dal
1/2 tsp ginger
Chopped green chillies
Curry leaves coriander leaves 🍃
Salt
2 1/2 cups boiling water
1/2 cup mixed veggies of choice
Method
Heat kadai , add oil , splutter mustard seeds, add chana dal .
Add green chilli , curry leaves , onions
Sauté well add in other vegetables , sprinkle water just enough to cook vegetables,When veggies are almost done , add in boiling water , salt , allow to come to a roll boil, with one hand steer adding roasted rava while stirring mixture, cover and cook for a minute or two , open ,
add in some ghee , stir the upma , serve with any accompaniments.
Adding coconut oil gives a delicious flavour and aroma.
