When summer is upon us and we see the pavement laden with mounds of raw mangoes all shapes and sizes.
According to geographical location raw mangoes have so many names and shapes and sizes.
Down south we have the popular vadu manga flooding the markets and everywhere the vendors go around with their produce and all the housewives are anxious not to miss the purchase as this type of small mangoes will be pickled for the year and not for ready consumption.
But who can wait for the pickles to get ready. While the baby mangoes take their time to emnate into juicy,hot,salty tongue tickling pickling we cannot wait anymore.
So heres a recipe ,a very common one which housewives everywhere use to quickly prepare instant cut mango pickles to satisfy their family members
Instant cut mango pickle

This is a great way to enjoy the seasons first raw mango pickle
Ingredients
4 Raw firm mangoes
4 tbsp red chilli powder
as needed salt
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 tsp fenugreek seeds
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp asafoetida powder
Instructions
Heat sesame oil in a pan.splutter the mustard seedsadd chopped mango pieces ,add chili powderadd saltadd roasted powdered fenugreek seedsadd turmeric powderadd asafoetida powder.Mix well,Store this ready cut mango pickle in a bottle.
