Navarathri Sundal and curry powder /podi
While most of us know how to make the easy sundal , a sprinkle of the sundal powder will uplift the Sundal to a new level, especially for those who do not like to add grated coconut. This Sundal podi can be sprinkled even with grated coconut.
5 dry red chillies
3 tsp dhania seeds
1 tbsp chana dal
1 tbsp Udad dal
Generous pinch of Hing/Asafoetida powder
Pinch of salt as per taste.
Dry roast all the above and powder them fine in mixie, store in air tight container and use it every day for all the sundals you make. This makes an excellent curry powder too.
Tip: For those avoiding coconut, prepare sundal as usual and after finishing, sprinkle this powder, add a tsp or a drop of coconut oil and give a toss.
