Dilpasand
Delicious sweet coconut stuffed bun with tutti fruti, sugar , raisins, cashewnuts bringing the nostalgic memories of most of us having eaten this at least once in the famed Iyengar bakeries of Karnataka, Bengaluru to be specific .
There are many versions going around , each bakery having its own small twist , using pastry method or the simple bread method using yeast ,here i have tired the bread technique by using yeast and stuffing the filling between two layers of rolled out dough , you can also prepare a large thick disc of dough , fill it with a big ball of the stuffing and roll up the dough , dumpling style and pressing the centre , rolling it out little thicker . this way the stuffing stays neat inside, choose your method of rolling out but do give this a try once and iam sure you will treat your kids to a home made version of a better Dilpasand .
