Paalkhova Theratipal
Delicious quick milk powder Therattipaal ./ paalkhova With very little powdered native jaggery and 3 tbsp ghee . The original way of making therattipaal by cooking milk continuously till it reduces to a thick mass is time consuming , hence this method can be followed for quick sweets . Microwave method is even faster . Just add all ingredients in a bowl and microwave for short intervals , open and stir each time till required consistency .
1 1/4 cup milk powder
1/4 cup milk
3 tbsp ghee
Pinch of cardamom powder
1/4 cup powdered jaggery
Ghee fried cashewnuts or almond slivers if you wish .
Add more ghee and sweeteners as per your desire . I keep it minimum yet it tastes good without being heavy on tummy . After lunch one small peda is so satisfying 😋 Therattipaal but I make into squares or easy to handle peda . As the mixture cools on a plate you can roll into pedhas also . For more softer texture add more ghee . When mixture is hot in thepan it will be gooey but non sticky ..If you have removed it a bit sooner it may be sticky bug no worries put it back on the pan and cook few seconds extra Spread it on a plate and it cools rapidly and you can shape it to pedhas . This kind of milk powder mixture can be used as a filling to prepare mawa bolis . or stuffed in whole wheat paranthas . This can be the base for many milk based sweets , gujiyas , biscuits etc
