As temperatures rise, ice cream becomes the go-to treat for many, serving not just as a way to cool down but also as a staple of summer joy and nostalgia. Here's a look at why this creamy delight is so synonymous with summer and how it fits into the season's activities.

Historical Connection

Ice cream's roots can be traced back to ancient times when people in hot climates would mix snow with fruits and honey for a refreshing treat. However, it became more recognizable in its current form in the 16th and 17th centuries. Since then, the evolution of refrigeration technology has made ice cream more accessible, transforming it into a popular treat worldwide, especially during the warm months.

Summer brings with it an abundance of fresh fruits, inspiring a range of seasonal ice cream flavors. Think peach, strawberry, cherry, and mango, among others. Artisanal ice cream shops and even larger manufacturers often introduce limited-time summer flavors, incorporating everything from summer fruits to trendy ingredients like lavender or matcha.
