Quick Rasam

Quick rasam

Delicious 😋 lunch with instant immunity boosting rasam ( no dal no rasam powder) perfect when you have no rasam powder , no cooked dal .

Ingredients for Instant rasam ( no dal no rasam powder )

3 small tomatoes 🍅 chopped

1 tsp cumin seeds

3/4 tsp pepper

Few curry leaves

Salt as needed .

Pinch of asafoetida powder

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1 tbsp thick Tamrind paste

Method

Blend all ingredients given above to a smooth paste .

Take a pan , heat , add 1 tsp sesame oil , add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds , splutter , add 1 tsp cumin seeds , few curry leaves .

Add the ground paste and sautee , add little water while doing so or else it may burn . Cover and cooo till no raw smell . Occasionally check to see sufficient water is there , when the mixture is becoming thick , dilute it now to required consistency.

Allow a gentle boil with a froth without over boiling .

Remove , garnish with chopped coriander leaves, add 1 tsp ghee to hot rasam .

It gives an amazing flavour .

Cover and keep till serving to retain the aroma .

Suggestions You can add cooked dal water instead of plain water if you have cooked dal
