Delicious crispy crunchy cashew murukku . Prepare such easy to make snacks for the festival season..adding cashew paste gives a distinctive yummy flavor to the plain murukku. we all love plain murukkus anyway, with hints of cumin or sesame seeds but the touch of cashew aroma is another variation . do try and leave your comments in the box below, i would love to have your feedback .

Ingredients

1 cup rice flour ( store bought is good enough )

15 cashewnuts soaked in water for 20 minutes grind to a smooth paste

and add that to make the dough

salt as needed

asafoetida powder , a pinch

3 tbsp hot oil or melted ghee or butter

oil for deep frying

sesame seeds or cumin about a tbsp

Method

Grind the cashews to a fine paste or powder, sieve well  id grinding to a powder . add to flour , add other ingredinets .
Prepare a soft dough .

heat oil , take a murruku press, use the star plate , grease the inside of the press with oil ,place a small ball of dough and check if oil is heated sufficiently.

press directly into hot oil or prepare individual rounds of murukku on a greased spatula .

drop into oil , and fry till done .

drain and store inn a air tight container .
