Adai mix powder or mixed lentils spicy crepe ready to make powder is another boon for the traveler or the busy housewife.
Ready to make adai mixes are available in stores but at a very high price , whereas it is so much easier to make at home not to mention very economical too especially when you need to make in bulk. 
These ready to make adai mix comes handy when you do not have a quick tiffin plan or just not able  to soak and grind.
Add this ready to  make adai mix powder in your travelling kit of groceries which you will no doubt take when going abroad .All you need is a tava and a spatula. Most hotels have small kitchenette with basic supplies so you can enjoy your favourite Indian dishes while traveling abroad.
You kids can prepare this easily while they are away from home, just paste simple instruction on the packet.


1/2 cup kuthiraivali millets ( barnyard millets )
1/2 cup saamai millets  ( little millets)
1/2 cup Thinai millets   ( fox tail millets )
1/2 cup varagu millets ( kodo millets )

1/4 cup Moong dal
1/2 cup toor dal
1/2 cup chana dal
3 tbsp udad dal
1/2 tsp pepper

4 -5 red dry chillies
1 tsp Asafoetida powder
Salt to taste
Curry leaves.

Clean all ingredients and sun dry if necessary or even roast them lightly in microwave .
Powder  about 3/4 th  of the total ingredients to a very smooth powder and the rest to a sooji/ rava like consistency
Mix both powders and store in clean air tight bottle.
To make adai, take required quantity of powder, mix with water and make a thick batter.
Rest for minimum 15 minutes for better textur, . although adai can be made immediately also.
After 15 minutes, stir well ,add little water if batter appears too thick.
Make adai in a greased tava and add sesame oil around edges for a crispy edge.
